DJ Economy kicks off Body Tools International’s inaugural release with his first ever EP! “Market Research” is a lush sonic voyage that encapsulates DJ Economy’s ability to neatly intertwine clever sampling, deep melodies, and enticing drum patterns into a project that represents where he is in his life and the musical journey that has brought him here. The 1st track, aptly named “Clocking In”, gently brings us into DJ Economy’s atmosphere with chilling strung-out chords accompanied by voice and Amen break samples that dive in and out of the track - the same way a dolphin moves in and out the Ocean. “Throwing Shade” moves things right along with a light but filling club track. This MPC-driven sizzler will have you moving some part of your body no matter where you’re listening to it. It is, after all, a Body Tool. We end things off with the title track, “Market Research”. This one drives the EP home with more lush chords and an array of drums intertwined through an expert use of an MPC. Both the choice of names and the samples used throughout the EP paint a picture of finding creative freedom and enjoyment in a time when we all face heavy doses of a difficult and depressing reality.
